I'm a storyteller, who specializes in making videos based in the greater area Seattle, USA
I have serious passion for helping people and companies share what they are doing, with a specialty at making very technical or difficult subjects understandable to a wider audience. I’ve been making videos for a little over ten years. I have experience working solo, dynamically with small teams, or as the collaborating producer organizing multi-disciplined teams of people at different locations around the world.
Recorded, produced, edited, and published over 250 videos to the AWS YouTube channel, with a mix of in-person and virtual production workflows.
Created over 100 pieces of internal facing creative content, consisting mostly of video projects for teams without any creative support. All-hands, product/program announcement videos, and still & motion graphics work make up the bulk of these deliverables.
Managed hundreds of projects of varying complexity, scope, delivery method, and budget level for companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small Non-Profits. Gave every project, regardless of size the same effort and attention. Was involved and responsible for projects from start (after SOW or PO opened) to finish, and beyond.
Acted as the production company’s go to technical director, and was the primary knowledge resource to associate and junior producers on the team, allowing them to continue to grow along with the complexity/size of their own projects.
Worked with several advertising agencies to remote line-produce ~20 ‘brand film’ style videos for businesses across the US. Focus was on people + budget management. Kept 100% of projects on schedule and on or under scoped budget
Began as an Audio Engineer, and fell in love with creating videos. My focus was on learning everything about the complete production and post production process. Completed over 450+ projects as the Studio's production coordinator and Studio Administrator, all while editing and creating audio for every project. The working enviroment was very fluid, and the team was small and agile, so everyone had a hand in all the content we created.
Majore in Music Technology (recording) with a Minor in Philosophy. President’s Scholar Award, Philip W. Eaton Scholarship Award, Dean’s List, Director’s Grant. GPA: 3.6
If you have any questions. Want to talk over my role in any specific project. Discuss our thoughts on camera sensor preferences. Or just to say hello? I'd love to hear from you, so please email or call!
My team was approached by BlockOne, a company behind one of the largest decentralized computing ecosystems in the world (EOS). They had a brain dump from their CEO about 'code rising in waves to connect the world' that we used to shape creative behind. What you see is the result. Working around concepts that don't exist yet is always hard, and we were told not to be specific. I lead the project, guiding a team of 3d Animators + producing and editing the live portion.
We were contacted on a Monday about two case studies that needed to be filmed and edited in 4 weeks. One in the UK, and one in Syktyvkar Russia. With almost no time to plan, myself and one of my DoPs rushed to get visas for Russia. I found local crews and equipment in both places, in addition to helping shape the overall flow of both case studies. We flew out ~7 days after the initial meeting and the DoP and myself were able to shoot, edit, complete post, and deliver both videos in ~21 days. One of the weirdly best videos I've been in, because of how quickly it all came together.
Read MoreThe Microsoft AI team had just spun up a new team to help spread the word about Microsoft's cognitive AI services. We were approached to jump start their content with five videos surrounding different AI infused projects the team had been working on. We met on Monday, and delivered the 5 final videos the following Tuesday. To accomplish this within scope and budget, we combined the filming into two long days, in addition to splitting our team into several crews that would rotate in on different videos through the weekend to complete the project. I love learning about new technology, so this project really allowed me to learn/share cool things Microsoft is doing within the AI ecosystem.
Read MoreBefore it's rebrand, the Inspire conference was WPC (Worldwide Partner Conference). While the event itself was very successful, one of the biggest things the Partner Network found was a difficulty for companies to send more than one person due to budget/time constraints. We were tasked with helping share the news that you could save more money per ticket the more you bought (and team members you brought). We created characters around the personas they saw at the event, and tried to weave them into a story that would share the information without losing any viewers.
From the first creative call with the Agency, to uploading the final a week later (at 5am), I don't think I've ever been as energized after such an intense edit+score+sound design week before. That alone was special, but I also remember the turning point for the edit. We were experimenting with different synths to help the 2nd half, and our composer was playing electric guitar riffs alongside my synth. Something clicked, and everything cascaded piece by piece after that. That electric moment, where all the weird shots start coming together, and feeling like a real story, made this intense edit project really worth it.
Read MoreI love telling good stories. And this is one edit that I loved working on. One of our favorite directors brought in ~45 hours of footage from Austin Texas. My main contributions to this other than the influence (along with my team and the client Kraft Foods), was footage organization and sound design. 45 hours is a lot of footage to search through if things aren't kept organized, or impossible to find if you didn't make selects yourself. Unless you create a system to label and organize so that everyone on the team can find what they need quickly.
Post-It Anthem was the first video that 3M created in it's new (at the time) branding and company mission statement. We used this as an opportunity to edit, score, and sound design brightness and energy into this entire video. I think this video is still a great showcase of the pace I like to keep when I edit.
This was one of my first projects as a real editor (instead of just an organizing/ingest assistant). While the final edit was done by someone else, this was the first time that I saw a large selection where my edit / flow was used. It gave me tons of confidence moving forward, and really informed most of my early edit habits. Cutting to or with music in mind. Loving the jump cut to keep the forward motion. And that I had a voice in edit, and something unique to share.
